Prioritization of tasks, use of planners, realistic deadline setting, and single-tasking as opposed to multitasking can greatly enhance productivity. This time saved can be invested in personal activities or relationships. 

One must schedule personal activities with the same commitment as work meetings-partying with family or friends, exercising, or pursuing a hobby. Another is delegating responsibilities whenever an opportunity arises and saying no to distractions that would encroach on one's work-life balance.

Organizations are instrumental in helping employees maintain a work-life balance. Organizations focused on the well-being of their workers-promotion of flexible work hours, working from home, and mental health assistance while encouraging employees to go on vacation-all contribute to the happiness of fellow workers, thus enhancing productivity.

An employer who pays attention to the well-being of his workers nurtures a workplace culture within which employees feel supported and motivated. This, in turn, benefits employees and directly translating into retention and performance improvement for the organization.
